Nominate Your Favorite Charity

November 17, 2016 at 8:33 AMKatie McGarry
Hi Everyone!
I'm giving away a one time $1,000 donation to the favorite charity organization of one of my readers. How do you nominate your favorite charity? Easy, follow this link to my Facebook page and leave a comment with the name of your favorite organization. Now, you can just write the name of the organization or you can explain why you love this organization or you can be creative. Make a video, create a drawing, whatever it is you’d like to do…go.
Nominations will close on Thursday, November 242017 at 11:29 pm EST. The nominated charitable organization must be a 501C organization and must be an organization I can donation to within in the United States.  International readers, think International Red Cross, UNICEF, etc. This is not in any way sponsored by Facebook.
I did a Facebook Live Video where I explain how I dig into my community and how I'm challenging my readers to dig in for 1 hour a month and volunteer within their community.
I will check in with my readers once every couple of months to find out if any of you have taken on this challenge and if you do take on this challenge and don’t want to wait to tell me then reach out and tell me all about this.
The sports team I volunteer for went through a tough time with injured team members and other situations and during a dark practice our head coach said, we can either let this be our excuse as to why we lose or this will be part of our victory story.  If I’ve given you any hope in my stories, I’m asking you now to give one hour and be part of the victory.  Dig in, change lives and I can guarantee your life will be changed as well.
Don't forget to nominate your favorite charity!  Click here to do so!

Seventeen-year-old Violet has always been expected to sit back and let the boys do all the saving.

It’s the code her father, a member of the Reign of Terror motorcycle club, raised her to live by. Yet when her dad is killed carrying out Terror business, Violet knows it’s up to her to do the saving. To protect herself, and her vulnerable younger brother, she needs to cut all ties with the club—including Chevy, the boy she’s known and loved her whole life.

But when a rival club comes after Violet, exposing old secrets and making new threats, she’s forced to question what she thought she knew about her father, the Reign of Terror, and what she thinks she wants. Which means re-evaluating everything: love, family, friends . . . and forgiveness.

Caught in the crosshairs between loyalty and freedom, Violet must decide whether old friends can be trusted—and if she’s strong enough to be the one person to save them all.

Teaser for Long Way Home

September 22, 2016 at 1:39 PMKatie McGarry
Teaser for Long Way Home. Release date: January 31, 2017!

I grew up with Violet. Played in the mud with her, caught fireflies with her, even got into a few shouting matches over bad calls at kickball. But I’ll never forget the first time Violet stole my breath.

Razor, Oz and I sat on this porch, holding welcome home signs Olivia forced us to make when Violet’s mom pulled up in the minivan. We were about to start high school and Violet had spent the summer at the shore with her mom and brother. The back door to the van slid open and I felt like I had been born.

Until that moment, the world had been black and white and I had never known color. And then a vibrant explosion. Her hair was longer, a deeper red than I had remembered and the ends were curled. Her blue eyes were bright, like a calm sea and when she saw me, Violet smiled.

The type of smile that men drive all night in a blinding rain storm on their bike to see. The type of smile that keep men fighting brutal wars for years in the vain hope of seeing that smile again. The type of smile that made me come to my feet because if I didn’t, I’d fall to my knees.

She smiled.

Big Book Giveaway

August 29, 2016 at 9:58 AMKatie McGarry

Hi everyone!

One of my dearest friends and favorite authors, Kristen Simmons, has a new book being released on September 20, 2016. To celebrate, I'm giving away an advanced reviewer copy of Metaltown and a signed set of my print books that includes Nowhere But Here, Walk the Edge, Pushing the Limits, Breaking the Rules Dare You To, Crash Into You, and Take Me On.  To enter, go the Rafflecopter below:

Kristen Simmons's Metaltown, where factories rule, food is scarce, and hope is in short supply.

The rules of Metaltown are simple: Work hard, keep your head down, and watch your back. You look out for number one, and no one knows that better than Ty. She’s been surviving on the factory line as long as she can remember. But now Ty has Colin. She’s no longer alone; it’s the two of them against the world. That’s something even a town this brutal can’t take away from her. Until it does.

Lena’s future depends on her family’s factory, a beast that demands a ruthless master, and Lena is prepared to be as ruthless as it takes if it means finally proving herself to her father. But when a chance encounter with Colin, a dreamer despite his circumstances, exposes Lena to the consequences of her actions, she’ll risk everything to do what’s right.

In Lena, Ty sees an heiress with a chip on her shoulder. Colin sees something more. In a world of disease and war, tragedy and betrayal, allies and enemies, all three of them must learn that challenging what they thought was true can change all the rules.

An enthralling story of friendship and rebellion, Metaltown will have you believing in the power of hope.

OUT NOW Chasing Impossible

July 26, 2016 at 3:09 PMKatie McGarry
Out now: Chasing Impossible. Abby and Logan's story and the sixth full length novel in the Pushing the Limits series.
Logan's Point of View:
           “Dance with me, Logan.”
That rips my attention away from the guy making a fool of himself onstage. I examine Abby and wonder what piece she just moved on the chessboard. Wouldn’t put it past Abby to sacrifice a pawn in order to kill a queen. Abby is nothing if not strategic.
“I don’t dance.” I don’t.
She slowly raises her eyebrows, and I fight the tilt of my lips. Abby doesn’t like being told no. “You’ll dart into traffic to run after a stranger’s balloon, but you won’t dance with me?”
I ran into traffic because I was curious if I could make it to the other side. The balloon made it interesting. “I don’t dance with anyone.”
“You were the one that suggested we come here.”
I shrug. I’m here because an opportunity presented itself and I’m fascinated by the new and shiny.
“Dance with me, Logan,” she says again, and I have to admit I like how her hips sway to the music. “Why else would you come here if it wasn’t to touch me on the dance floor?”
I chuckle because that caught me off guard and Abby laughs, her real laugh. It doesn’t happen often and I like when it does.

Chasing Impossible Visiting Old Friends

July 15, 2016 at 5:37 PMKatie McGarry
Hi everyone!
First off, congrats Jenn B.! She was the winner of the Chasing Impossible Giveaway and she has already emailed to claim her prize! Thank you to all who entered.
Why should you read Chasing Impossible? You get to visit with old friends.... Excerpt below:
Working as a team, the boys hand off bale of hay after bale of hay to the next guy in line until it reaches Chris and he neatly stacks it in the barn. They work under lamps hung in the rafters. They’ve been at it all day. In the fields, in the barn, picking up, stacking, never ceasing.
Night is just about to completely fall. There’s only a sliver of red and pink in the western sky. The rest of the world is dark. Very dark. Except for the scattered fireflies dancing across the field.
Logan has his shirt off, all the boys do, but it’s Logan that I can’t stop staring at. He’s gorgeous. Black hair, dark eyes, muscles that ripple with every movement. A fine sheet of sweat covers him and I’ve spent the past twenty minutes imagining caressing my fingers along the lines of his chest.
God, I’m attracted to the boy. But that’s not new information. My fingers brush my lips and I recall how it felt when Logan kissed me in my bed. The weight of his body over mine, the pressure of his tantalizing lips, the intoxicating smell of dark spices.
I’m warm, very warm, and it’s not due to the summer heat.
West picks up the last bale and hands it to Noah who gives it to Isaiah who hands it to Ryan who gives it to Logan who finally offers it to Chris. Each of the boys are weary, exhausted, and I don’t have the heart to ask how much they are making doing such backbreaking work. I hope it’s a financial windfall. I hope it’s enough to offset the way they sway on their dead feet.
In silence, they gather their things and I have no doubt they’re heading for the cabin. West walks past and blows me a kiss. I flip him off. Isaiah’s my friend. Noah’s close to being a friend. West is what I would imagine it is like to have an annoying older brother.
Chris tosses his shirt over his shoulder and drinks from an almost empty gallon jug.
“Hey, Chris,” I say as everyone starts to leave.
He pauses by me, giving the rest of the guys enough space to ease past and us enough privacy that I can ask while not feeling like a fool. “If I’m stuck here, I want to help.”
Chris sizes me up and I bristle with his assessment. I’m too small and not strong enough. It’s written all over his face. I could hang for a bit with them though, but I’m not stupid enough to think I could hang with them the entire time. But still, I could help.
“Can you drive the tractor? I feel like an idiot being on there with them working their asses off and nobody will switch with me.”
I bite my bottom lip. The answer is no. I barely know how to drive, let alone drive a tractor, but I’m bored and I hate feeling useless. “Sure.”
“Good. Thanks.” He glances over his shoulder at Logan. “Do me a favor and give Logan a break. I can understand why you’re mad, but…”
The glare I give him causes Chris to not finish his statement.
“Just give him a break.”
